On September 25th, the Lindholmen Innovation District was transformed into a buzzing meeting place during the annual Lindholmen Open Day. The event attracted hundreds of visitors—tech and automotive industry professionals, students, and curious locals from Gothenburg—and offered an intense day filled with optimism about the future.
The corporate exhibition, backed by around 40 companies, was described as a beehive of project presentations, knowledge exchange, and networking. The day highlighted the area's unique strength in innovation, collaboration, and expertise, especially in fields like mobility, AI, and green transition. Lindholmen is also growing as a destination, featuring several hotels, numerous restaurants, a street food market, and cultural elements.
Activities also included test drives, an open house at the Battery Centre, and a walking quiz that participants enjoyed on a guided tour through the district. Many took the opportunity to explore the environments up close in the glorious sunshine.
Great appreciation was extended to the inspiring keynote speakers: Johan Lundén (Coretura), Linda U Johansson (Swedish Metaverse Centre), and David Green (Lynk & Co), whose insights captured a packed audience.
The day concluded on a festive note with both an after-work event at the newly opened AKVA restaurant and the Lindholmen Relay Race, in which approximately 100 teams participated—both from companies in the area and from running clubs.
